Surry School Memorial Day Program, May 30th 9:15 am, outside the school.
Surry School sponsors Annual Recognition Night for graduating 6th graders.
Thursday June 21st beginning 7:00 PM
As a group of our most precious citizens move from the comforts of our
small and quaint school, to the big and possibly imposing Junior High / High School
complex at Monadnock Regional School, we send them off with an evening devoted
to them and them alone.
This long standing tradition, serving in effect as a graduation ceremony,
provides each child with the opportunity to express their feelings about time
spent at Surry Elementary School, whether for one year or their entire elementary
education. The children present an essay about their experiences, which is then
replied to by the 6th grade teacher Mrs. Patricia Small, who delivers a farewell
letter to each child individually, expressing her projections for where the
future may take them.
This very special event takes place on Thursday June 21st from 7:00 onwards,
and is open to all interested persons.
The Surry School has been fortunate to be impacted by a very dedicated staff
and set of parents who make up the PTC (Parents & Teachers Club), which spends
countless hours and effort in school related activities. While we know that the
program will continue with the children's best interest at heart, we are always
in need of additional help. If your children attend Surry School, come out and
get involved. Whether you can assist in committee work, volunteer to chaperone a
field trip, or help out on fund raisers, every little bit helps the children,
your children, enhancing their school experience. As we move forward to the summer
shut down, much planning will go into the coming school year. Don't be a stranger,
we need you, the children need you.
For more details call or write to any teacher at the school, who will put
you in touch with a PTC member for follow up. The Surry School also
has it's own WebPage if you'd like to look at the school itself. This page is
administered by the Surry School Staff directly.
